Cancellation Policy

All confirmed orders are subject to our 24-hour cancellation policy, such that unless notice of cancellation is communicated to us at least 24 hours in advance of the time identified for an interpretation, the customer becomes responsible for one-hour of service time in the case of canceling telephone interpretation services, or for two-hours of service time for cancellations of onsite interpretation services.

In cases of stop orders on translations in process, customer will be responsible for charges pertaining to the work already performed prior to such stop orders.

Conditions

Since translation is a subjective process through which different individuals may express the same meaning using different word choices, CTE will not be liable for such variations. Additionally, there may be "personal preferences" in words selection that may be stylistic or based on a person's familiarity with industry-specific terminology. CTE will attempt to utilize reference materials and glossaries to a commercially reasonable extent, but there remains the likelihood that the customer may prefer word insertions or replacements. As such, there may be additional costs associated with the incorporation of differing terms or language into the final translated document.
Should the customer change the parameters of the project while it is in progress, CTE reserves the right to apply additional charges and/or extend the deadline in accordance with the change requested. Furthermore, should the customer request additional services to be performed such as subjective revisions to language and/or layout, revisions to source files which might affect the target language versions, etc., then such services will be billed additionally.
The customer must notify CTE of any concerns with CTE 's performance within thirty (30) business days of receipt of deliverables via certified letter/return receipt or via electronic mail to an account representative. If CTE is not so notified, the customer waives all rights and claims arising out of such performance. Should the customer cancel a translation, the customer will be obligated to pay CTE for all work completed prior to CTE having reasonably received notification of cancellation.
CTE shall not be liable under any theory at law, in equity or otherwise for any special, exemplary, punitive, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages (even if CTE has been advised of same), including without limitation lost profits or revenues.  The entire liability of CTE for any claim, loss or damages, shall not in any event exceed the sum of the payments actually made by the customer to CTE.
